Today marks the beginning of our eighth year of Broadcasting on WPBP. As always, I remain grateful to the station management for graciously allowing the show to run on their station. Without them, there would be no show. To celebrate the start of a new broadcast season, this is a list of new items and activites you can expect.
New Release Playlist
Last year, we gave you The Underground on demand through a convenient Spotify playlist. This year, we’re taking it up a notch with a “New Release” playlist. This playlist will cover songs that are either digital/streaming exclusives or songs that have not made their way to The Big Radio Program yet. The playlist will be updated regularly and will be available on August 11th at waydownunderground.stream/ondemand.
New Merch
The Underground has two new Merchandise items available immediately. The first is a “No Brouhaha Zone” T-shirt. This shirt, designed like a street sign, lets wearers show their disdain for drama and their lack for legalism by declaring themselves to be a “No Brouhaha Zone”. The shirt is a reference to 2 Timothy 2:23, which instructs us to stay out of unnecessary arguments that only lead to fighting. The second new merch item is the Underground logo sweatshirt. Just in time for this fall and winter, this sweatshirt will help the wearer fight the cold and frigid with this comfortable sweatshirt. You can click or tap on the image of the sweatshirt below to order from The Underground store.

Jock Talk posts The Big Radio Program is a fast-paced program that showcases today’s cutting-edge Christian artists. With that, the format doesn’t always allow I-Max, the host, to nurture a connection with the audience outside of information about the artists. Introducing Tuesday Night Jock Talk. These posts will cover a wide range of topics open for discussion. A new post drops every Tuesday night at 6 Central on The Underground’s official Facebook page at Facebook.com/waydownunderground.
New LinersBeginning with the show’s season premiere on August 9th, a new set of liners will rotate throughout the show. These new liners will freshen up the rotation of current liners while providing an entertaining transition between songs.
The Underground Graveyard ShiftFor those who cannot get enough of The Underground, we are proud to announce that The Underground is expanding! Coming Soon – The Underground Graveyard Shift: taking you through the overnight hours seven nights a week from midnight to 5:00 AM. Beta testing began in December, with a phase 1, soft launch in April. Stay tuned to the show, the website, and our social media channels for an official launch date.
Oh yeah, and one more thing … The Underground is now on Youtube.Starting Monday, last week’s show will also be available on Youtube.
